Social support for dementia carers and families, helping you navigate dementia care.
It’s a chance to connect with others who understand your experience, share stories, and find encouragement. Together, we explore practical resources, valuable information, and insights to help navigate the challenges of dementia care.
Join us to gain support, share knowledge, and take comfort in knowing you’re not alone on this journey.
We want to create a dementia-friendly community where people living with dementia feel supported and included.
As part of the Innovative Model of Care Grant, we are exploring the formation of a Dementia Alliance in Killarney. This initiative would bring together local businesses, service providers, and community groups to improve awareness and accessibility.
Through training and education, we hope to help employees and volunteers better understand dementia and support those affected. We also see an opportunity to collaborate with the Co-op and other local organisations. A long-term goal is to achieve Dementia Australia’s ‘dementia town’ accreditation, setting a benchmark for other townships in our region.
By fostering understanding and inclusion, we can make Killarney a more supportive place for people living with dementia.
We meet monthly, alternating between formats to cater to different needs.
Every second month, a guest speaker joins to share practical tips or insights about dementia. On the alternate months, we host a relaxed coffee morning—a safe space for open conversation or social respite over a cuppa.
Morning tea is always provided, creating a welcoming environment for connection and support.
The second Tuesday of each month at 10am.
